Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon do lunch

Jimmy Kimmel congratulated Jimmy Fallon’s eventual ascension to the “Tonight Show” yesterday — by sending him lunch from the 2nd Ave. Deli.

“Thank you Jimmy Kimmel and staff for the 2nd Ave Deli lunch,” Fallon tweeted. “Class act.”

Kimmel and Fallon are friendly late-night competitors — but Kimmel has never been shy about his dislike for Jay Leno, who’ll surrender “Tonight” to Fallon in 2014.

“It is a big one for the world of late-night television,” Kimmel said in his monologue Wednesday night. “As you probably heard, it was announced officially today, starting in February of next year, after the Olympics, I will take over as new host of ‘The Tonight Show.’ ”
