COPS MAKE ARREST IN ARMORED CAR HEIST

It was an inside job.

A guard who works for the Dunbar Armored Car Co. was busted today on charges of being the brazen thief who snuck up behind another guard Tuesday and snatched her gun and a bag filled with $330,000 in cash, police said.

The alleged thief was identified as Ronald Blackmon, 34, of Hillside, N.J.

His victim, 22-year-old Janell Nelson, who lives in nearby Roselle, N.J., would only say, “I’m just glad to be alive.”

Nelson was delivering cash to the M&T Bank at 397 First Ave. in Kips Bay when the heist occurred.

Blackmon, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and sweatpants, was standing in the vestibule of the bank, pretending to use the ATM, cops said.

When Nelson walked out with a nylon bag filled with cash, Blackmon grabbed her from behind, grabbed her loaded .357 Smith & Wesson handgun from her holster and barked, “Gimme your s—!” a source said.

After a brief struggle, the man wrestled the bag, containing $330,000 in $100 bills, out of her hand. He tossed the gun into the bag and fled south on First Avenue.

The guard’s partner was sitting in the armored car at the time. While he saw what was happening, he was under orders not to leave the vehicle, sources said.
