ABC war on Adam escalates

The Adam Lambert vendetta continues at ABC.

The “American Idol” runner-up yesterday disclosed that his scheduled appearance on the Dec. 17 episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and an unannounced performance during “New Year’s Rockin Eve” have been canceled.

Both shows air on ABC, the same network that spanked Lambert for his raunchy performance at the American Music Awards last month by canceling his “Good Morning America” live performance later the same week.

“We decided not to move forward with the booking at this time,” was all an ABC spokesperson would say. (“Idol” Allison Iraheta will perform in his place.)

“Don’t blame them,” Lambert tweeted. “It’s the FCC heat.”

The controversial “Idol” isn’t being bumped off of all his scheduled ABC appearances, though. He’ll be one of the featured interviews during “Barbara Walters Presents The 10 Most Fascinating People Of 2009” — a gig he was booked for more than six weeks ago, according to an ABC spokesperson.

Meanwhile, NBC confirmed that Lambert is scheduled to appear on the Dec. 21 episode of “The Jay Leno Show.”
