The Yankees admit they lost it in the sun.
A day after The Post reported on fan furor over Yankee Stadium’s ban on sunscreen, team officials yesterday conceded the rules were “too stringent,” and will now allow stadium visitors to bring their sunblock in any size container they want.
Fans were burned up inside and out after being forced to toss their sunscreen before being allowed into the Stadium, a measure the Yankees insisted was necessary to prevent terrorists from concealing liquid explosives.
“The Yankees’ management will do whatever it takes to maximize profit under the guise of security,” retired cop Chester Hicks said.
Sunscreen is sold inside the Stadium at a jacked-up price of $5 an ounce.
The Yankees will still not allow sunscreen in aerosol cans, but have lifted the rule – which was never publicized – that the containers have to be under 3 ounces, team spokesman Jason Zillo said.
