Giants running back David Wilson underwent neck surgery on Thursday and seems to be feeling better already.

Wilson was expected to be a major contributor for the Giants last season, taking over the starting role with the release of Ahmad Bradshaw, but the 2012 first-round pick was sidelined in October by a herniated disk. It is unclear when, or even if, Wilson will play again.

The Giants are hopeful that he can return in 2014.

“Our medical staff thinks he will be ready to play this year,’’ general manager Jerry Reese said last week on WFAN.

Wilson seems to be in a very good mood the day after his surgery. He later tweeted out a photo (above) of him standing on a table, mooning New York City traffic.
