BITTER TASTE OF ‘BIAS’ AT CATERER

A former employee of Mangia 57 said he was regularly served heaping helpings of anti-Semitism at the upscale catering company.

In papers filed with the state Division of Human Rights, Adam Wiercinski said he was derided for years as a “stinking Jew” and “dirty Jew” by his supervisor and co-workers.

On some occasions, Wiercinski’s filing says, his boss would pass gas in front of him and say, “This is your Cyclon B, you stupid Jew.”

Zyklon B was the type of gas that Nazis used to exterminate Jews in gas chambers.

Wiercinski, 56, said the abuse went on for years, with management ignoring his complaints, until he hired a lawyer.

He said he was let go last year after he had to go on leave to take care of his ailing mom in Poland. When he returned, he was told he wouldn’t be rehired, which the 25-year employee maintains was retaliatory.

Wiercinski is presenting his case before the state commission today.

Mangia 57 did not return a call for comment.
