CHECK PLEASE, TAVERN

Tavern on the Green is being sued by a publisher left waiting for a check.

The restaurant’s boss, Jennifer LeRoy, and her mom, Kay, owe Workman Publishing $218,426.19 plus interest for allegedly going back on a deal to buy 10,000 copies of their own book, “Tavern on the Green,” the suit claims.

“We regret that it’s come to a lawsuit,” said Ann Bramson, of Artisan Books, the Workman imprint that issued the book.

The restaurant wanted to reward customers with copies of the book, which includes recipes for such Tavern dishes as sliced duck breast with shallot-ginger glaze.

It includes such tasty details as the fact that Tavern replaces 3,000 dinner plates a year to replace those lost, broken or stolen.
