Bloomberg: Feds should do ‘right thing’ and move 9/11 trial

President Obama should “do the right thing” and move the Sept. 11 terror trials out of Manhattan, Mayor Bloomberg urged this morning.

“This is the federal government’s call — plain and simple,” Bloomberg said during an appearance on his radio show. “They decide what kind of a trial and they decide where.”

Bloomberg said he called Attorney General Eric Holder on Thursday, trying to convince the feds not to host the trial of 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed in the city because it would be costly.

Gov. Paterson said he was “elated that our concerns are being considered by the president and the federal government.”
