Gary Coleman in domestic assault rap

Former Diff’rent Strokes star Gary Coleman was arrested in Utah today accused of domestic assault, the Post has confirmed.

The 41-year-old star – who recently suffered a health scare – was arrested at 1:28 p.m by police in Santaquin on one count of domestic assault.

He was picked up because of a warrant stemming from a prior incident and was being held on $1,725 bail, TMZ reported..

Police declined to release the identity of the victim.

In January this year Coleman was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital after suffering a seizure while promoting his straight-to-DVD movie “Midgets vs. Mascots.”

He later said he had fallen down the stairs and hit his head on New Years Day at his Santaquin home, which he shares with his young wife Shannon Price, 23.

The couple have had a rocky relationship, including previous arrests for domestic violence, since they secretly married in 2007 after meeting on the set of the comedy 2006 film Church Ball.

In 2007 Coleman was cited for misdemeanor disorderly conduct after he was seen having a heated discussion with his wife.

The couple appeared on the television series Divorce Court in 2008 where Price described Coleman as distant and depressed, but they managed to reconcile afterward.

However, in July 2009 Price was arrested for domestic violence and disorderly conduct after trashing a room in their Utah home.

Coleman has also been arrested for assault, most recently in 2008 when he allegedly hit fan Colt Rushton with his truck outside a Utah bowling alley after the man took photos of the former child-star. It was reported in January that a settlement had been reached in the personal injury lawsuit.

In 1999 Coleman was fined $400, given a year’s probation and ordered to take anger management classes after being accused of misdemeanor battery against a female bus driver who asked for his autograph inside a store.
