Strumpet’s sick sex-taunt script

The following is an email that ESPN production assistant Brooke Hundley sent Courtney Arp, a Connecticut waitress who responded to an ad Hundley had placed on Craigslist seeking someone to call a purported girlfriend to inform the friend that her spouse was cheating. Hundley allegedly claimed to be named “Kelly Burns” in her dealings with Arp, whom she paid $50 for the calls in August. Arp was unaware at the time of the calls that the woman she was calling was Marni Phillips, the wife of ESPN baseball analyst Steve Phillips, who had had a brief affair with Hundley. The email address that Hundley/Burns uses — lancers04@msn.com — appears to be a nod to the mascot of her Colordao high school, “The Lancers.”

Just so you have it, here’s what I wrote up for the call, the location is subject to change that’s where they’ve been meeting every time, but he seemed a little skittish in his texts like his wife was getting suspicious so I’ll let you know if anything changes:

Phone number: [REDACTED]

“Hi is Marni available?    (If they ask who you are say you work with Steve and it’s very important you speak with her)

Hi Marni, I work with your husband, sorry to be calling so late, but I have some pretty important information I feel you need to know.  As you can probably tell Steve hasn’t been himself lately…(pause and act like this is really hard for you to tell her)

It’s because he’s cheating on you with a young woman at our work.  They text back and forth all day when he’s in the office and they both rush out of here when he’s done for the day.  I followed them once because they had been acting super strange and saw them get together in his car down the block. I checked her texts and if you want to catch them tonight they are planning to meet after the show at 12:30ish in the target parking lot off of I-84 just down from work.

He said in the text they’ll have to rush since his family is waiting up for him, so you might want to get there early to find them.  Sorry to have to be the one to tell you, just thought you should know, and I hope you can put a stop to him chasing around all the young woman who work here.”

(The big thing on this is to act like you’re having a hard time telling her this and you feel just absolutely awful I really need her to see that this isn’t some prank, but an actual woman who’s seen it all.  In all honestly he’s a disgusting bastard who’s already come clean about a series of affairs he had and she took him back once, I just need her to finally see he hasn’t changed, he’s just gotten better at cheating).
