‘Glee’ twice as big

The return of “Glee” — the wonder series where characters break into song at the drop of a hat — after a four-month break hit all the high notes.

The show, which aired after “American Idol,” drew an audience of 13.7 million viewers — the biggest audience for a new-season series this year.

The show debuted last fall as a sort-of experiment with a short, eight-episode run on Fox.

Just as it was becoming a modest hit, the show had to be put on hold until spring so the producers could shoot new episodes.

This week’s return-show rating nearly doubled the ratings from last fall.
