The US national football (soccer) team fought its heart out to get as far as it got in the World Cup (“This Sport Is Stupid Anyway,” June 27).
Those guys deserve a lot more than you turning your back on them just because they lost to Ghana.

Can there be anything more boring than soccer? I don’t understand how you can waste two hours of your day to see maybe one or two goals in an entire game.
It would be more interesting if the goalies were not allowed to use their hands; then perhaps we could see seven or eight goals a game. Otherwise, the game makes me sleepy.

If soccer is such a stupid game, why have ESPN and ABC seen such a large increase in World Cup ratings?
MLS attendance this year has gone up, and the new Red Bull stadium opened to a soccer game that over 25,000 people attended a few months ago.
