Girl dead after being hit by B’klyn bus

A 15-year-old girl was struck and killed by a van in Brooklyn yesterday, authorities said.

Sara Kishik was crossing Avenue O near East Seventh Street in Midwood when she was struck by the vehicle around 2:50 p.m., cops said.

The Yeshiva Aterat Torah student was taken in critical condition to Maimonides, where she was pronounced dead.

A law-enforcement source said that Kishik “misjudged the traffic.”

“The girl tried to cross the street diagonally and she looked one way and ran, but she didn’t look the other way,” said a witness, who would only identify himself as Vinny, 52. “Then the van hit her. She flew and she hit her head. … Somebody went through her yeshiva bag and found a phone number in her papers and called her family.”

A manager for the driver’s company, Annabella Transportation, said, “I really don’t know what happened. An accident happened, the driver hit someone and I’m just finding out about it.”

A family friend at Kishik’s house declined to comment.
