A man beat and robbed the mother of his child during a fight in her Laconia apartment, court papers claim.

The incident began when Richard Ormsby, 26, tried to force his way into the victim’s home, kicking at the door and screaming, according to the court documents.

“You can’t talk to people however you like. You’re going to learn how to respect me,” Ormsby allegedly said.

When the woman tried to call 911, Ormsby climbed through the window of her first-floor apartment and snatched the cellphone out of her hand while she was on the phone with a dispatcher, the court records claim.

Ormsby then grabbed the victim by the hair and dragged her across the floor before hitting her with an open palm in the face and ear several times — all while she was holding on to her 8-month-old baby, according to the documents.

Ormsby fled through the door and the victim phoned 911 a second time, the court records say.

But he came back to the apartment later and allegedly swiped the victim’s cellphone.

Ormsby was hit with numerous charges, including assault, burglary and endangering the welfare of a child, the records say.
