Feds’ eye on bus strike

A federal labor board is expected to rule on the legality of a bruising strike by city school-bus workers as early as today, while the week-old work stoppage continues to keep thousands of kids out of class.

A coalition of bus companies told the National Labor Relations Board in Brooklyn yesterday that the strike is unfairly hurting their bottom line — although they’re not involved in the dispute.

The companies contract with the city for yellow-bus routes, and in turn employ members of striking Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1181.

If the board sides with the bus companies, it could immediately seek an injunction against the striking workers in federal court.
