Son who allegedly chopped up mom’s body took photo of himself holding her head

This is the horrifying photograph that accused killer Bahsid McLean snapped of himself holding up his slain mom’s head.

The Bronx man, 23, snapped the pic after allegedly stabbing his mom, Tanya Byrd, 45, to death and chopping her up.

It was one of several gruesome photos found on his cellphone, a law-enforcement source said.

“I lost sleep over it. Just sheer inhumanity,” the source said. “It’s horrible what he did to her.”

McLean has been charged with murder. Cops say he killed Byrd in their Morrisania apartment, then cut up her body with a power saw and scattered the remains around the neighborhood.

A pal, William Harris, 26, was charged with helping to dissect and dispose of the body.

Both men are due back in court Monday.

McLean allegedly killed his mother after she told him to grow up and move out of the apartment they shared with his 7-year-old brother, who has Down syndrome, sources have said.

McLean denied the charges during his bizarre arraignment this week — while wearing only a garbage bag.

“I didn’t do anything wrong!” he insisted.

His aunt was sickened by the news.

“That’s horrible. We are horrified by it. We don’t know this person,” Cassandra McLean-Smith said. “We don’t know where he comes from — if it is the same blood that runs through our veins runs through his veins.

“He is a monster. We are sorry that New York doesn’t have the death penalty. We want death.”

McLean’s attorney did not immediately respond to a call for comment.
