Dog-slay arrest

They chased him for months from Harlem to Albany, but investigators for the Manhattan DA yesterday finally pulled the accused torturer of a puppy off a train in Penn Station and charged him with felony animal cruelty.

Darnell Saulsbury, 27, allegedly slashed a 5-month-old puppy to death over the course of 45 minutes — a sick attack captured on surveillance video late last year.

Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Michael Obus ordered Saulsbury to be held without bail.

Officials say Saulsbury was caught on video surveillance attacking the helpless puppy with a broken bottle and a knife in the lobby of his building at 125th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue in Harlem.

“It would make you sick,” a law enforcement source said.
