Bono salutes Americans for progress in fight against AIDS

WASHINGTON — U2 rocker and activist Bono marked World AIDS Day Sunday by saluting the American people for progress in fighting the deadly disease.

“The American people have said that this fight against HIV/AIDS . . . they want to see it done,” he said on ABC’s “This Week.”

“That is so inspiring to me,” Bono said.
