A young mom of four who became an Internet sensation when her sexy DUI mug shot went viral is suing the Web site that introduced it.
Meagan Simmons, 28, became the subject of hundreds of Internet memes with her tousled hair, sultry lips — and standard-issue orange jumpsuit.
“GUILTY — of taking my breath away,” read one image. “Arrested for breaking and entering — YOUR HEART,” read another.
The sandy-haired medical assistant from Zephyrhills, Fla., is suing instantcheckmate.com, a Web site that offers background checks of public and criminal records, for using her image “for financial gain.”
“One of the services the Web site offers is finding and locating criminal records,” her attorney, Matthew Crist, told The Post. “And it’s associating her with criminal activity.”
Crist compared her case to a brand using the face of a celebrity without permission.“If Tom Cruise is promoting Axe Body Spray, the guys at Old Spice can’t use his picture, it’s the same issue,” he said.
