Hockey fight ends in a hug and chug of beer

This plays like a deleted scene from “Slap Shot.”

In a Federal Hockey League game between the Danville Dashers and Dayton Demonz, two players circled each other in the familiar prelude to fisticuffs. But instead of fighting, the Dashers’ Matt Puntuneri hugged the Demonz’s Jesse Felton, then cracked open a beer and chugged it.

“I don’t know what that was in his jersey, but he pulled it out and he drank it,” Felton said.

Amazingly, slamming beer isn’t a two-minute minor in hockey, as neither player received a penalty.

Dayton was leading 4-0 in the third period at the time of the non-fight.
