The pagan pol is pulling out.
Disgraced, heathen City Councilman Dan Halloran (pictured) announced yesterday that he won’t seek re-election — so he can try to clean up his scandal-splattered name.
The tubby lothario is under federal indictment for trying to rig the mayoral race, and is also facing a council ethics probe after The Post revealed his two romantic relationships with young female staffers.
“Regrettably, I must now focus my attention on clearing my name and restoring my reputation, while I continue to discharge my sworn duties as a member of the New York City Council,” he said in a statement.
“After much thought, I have concluded that it is impossible for me to properly do these things and take on the enormous demands of a political campaign, so I will not pursue another term in the council.”
But that didn’t cut it for council speaker and mayoral candidate Christine Quinn, who demanded he resign: “I urge Council Member Halloran to think hard about whether he should go further and step down immediately.”
Halloran hooked up with his former chief-of-staff, Meaghan Mapes, in 2010, which broke up his marriage.
He is currently shacking up with former intern Denise Batista, 23.
