Storm chasers’ death cry

Three veteran storm chasers screamed, “We’re going to die!” moments before a killer tornado took their lives, Oklahoma authorities revealed yesterday.

The chasers were among 19 people who died Friday when twisters roared through central Oklahoma.

“They were screaming, ‘We’re going to die! We’re going to die!’ ” Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Betsy Randolph told USA Today.

Randolph said she heard the men — Tim Samaras, 55, his son, Paul Samaras, 24, and Carl Young, 45 — over a police radio scanner.

The National Weather Service revealed yesterday the storm had winds of 295 mph, among the most powerful ever recorded.
