A 170-pound brute was arrested yesterday on charges of killing a 4-month-old dog in Soundview, authorities said.

Dwayne Gentles, 28, whose lengthy rap sheet includes an April arrest for trying to stab his girlfriend with a screwdriver, began beating the brown and black pit bull two months after its birth, law-enforcement sources said.

Gentles took the female pup to a vet right before Christmas but the tiny animal could not be saved and had to be put down, sources added.

An autopsy showed that the pup had suffered 14 rib fractures, two broken legs, swelling on the brain, broken teeth, cuts to the mouth and other signs of chronic abuse, said ASPCA spokesman Joe Pentangelo.

Gentles was charged yesterday with aggravated animal cruelty, a felony that can bring up to two years’ imprisonment.

He also faces charges of menacing, weapons possession and harassment in an April 13 attack on his girlfriend, sources said.

A Crips member with more than 20 arrests, including for rape and a ritual gang assault that left a 15-year-old burned and beaten, was shot dead in Crown Heights Monday, police sources said.

Joseph Belmar, 30, was shot several times at about 5:35 p.m. at Rutland Road and Kingston Avenue, according to cops.

He had suffered gunshot wounds to the arm, neck and chest and was pronounced dead by EMS, police added.

Belmar made headlines 13 years ago as the alleged ringleader when Crips members beat, burned and robbed a mildly retarded boy in a Brooklyn group home.

The victim was also forced to drink shampoo and eat soiled underpants, police said at the time.

A motive in Belmar’s slaying wasn’t immediately clear, sources said.

A sicko held a woman captive in his Crown Heights apartment for more than a day, authorities said.

The 41-year-old victim had gone to a Union Street apartment near Rogers Avenue to borrow money from the girlfriend of alleged assailant Allen Boone, 50, to buy crack at about 7 a.m. last Thursday, law-enforcement sources said.

She fell asleep, and woke up in Boone’s bedroom, sources said.

He then allegedly tied her legs together, grabbed her by the hair and dragged her into the closet, forcing her to perform a sex act on him, sources said.

Boone allegedly held her captive until 6 a.m. Saturday, sources added.

The victim called police, and Boone was arrested at his home shortly before 8 a.m. Saturday, sources added.

He was hit with a slew of charges, including first-degree sexual abuse, criminal sexual assault and unlawful imprisonment.
