‘Game of Thrones’ trailer unleashed

“Game of Thrones” fans have been very patient for the new season, which starts April 6, and as if to reward them for their devotion, HBO has released a yummy trailer for Season 4. Call it an appetizer for the main course.

The 15-minute trailer – “Game of Thrones Ice and Fire: A Foreshadowing” — includes on-camera interviews with such cast members as Gwendoline Christie (Brienne), Peter Dinklage (Tyrion) and Natalie Dormer (Margaery).

Executive Producer David Benioff notes “There is tremendous clamor for revenge, especially in the wake of the Red Wedding. Some of the most mind-blowing scenes of the entire series are coming at the end of this coming season. There’s some very bloody confrontations. This is definitely the most dangerous season for Tyrion. In almost every episode, he’s in jeopardy of getting his head removed from his shoulders.”

The actors also dish about their favorite characters. Kit Harrington (Jon Snow), Maisie Williams (Aria Stark), Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) and others weigh in.

Among the new characters to “Game of Thrones,” Oberyn Martell (Pedro Pascal) is described as the real wild card of the bunch. Like so many people on “GOT,” he is well-built, handsome, dangerous and makes plenty of time for romance in the shadows.

One of the funniest bits on the trailer is listening to show stars Emilia Clarke (Daenerys), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime) and others talk about how evil Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) is. “He’s the last person on earth you would want to have any kind of power,” says Coster-Waldau.
