BUSH-LEAGUERS

ARE politicians actually born without the gene for shame, or are they simply born with the even more tragic condition known as the double chutzpah chromosome? (That’s 1½ times normal.)

The GOP convention proved that we can no longer sit on our hands – we must allocate funds to fight this terrible condition.

Evidence was everywhere that this malady has reached epidemic proportions.

First, Bill Clinton made fun of George Dubya for going into the family business – politics. Clinton, who had daughter Chelsea with him at the Mideast peace talks, and has a wife who’s running for office, apparently doesn’t think voters will notice that these two women are, in fact, part of his immediate family.

Then there was Clinton’s intimation that George the Younger is nothing but a daddy’s boy. To prove that the president’s allegations were totally baseless, both of Dubya’s parents – not just his father – rushed to his defense.

Mom Barbara seethed on TV, while pop George threatened to “get off the reservation” and go after Clinton for going after his boy. No word on what Indians who actually are on reservations think about him leaving.

The one issue that no one can question, however, is the GOP diversity theme. They are diverse. Every single George Bush has a different middle initial.
