TV’s Gary Coleman gravely ill

Former child TV star Gary Coleman was in critical condition last night, suffering what his family called a “serious medical problem.”

Utah Valley Regional Medical Center spokeswoman Janet Frank said only that the “Diff’rent Strokes” actor, 42, was admitted Wednesday.

Coleman’s wife, Shannon Price, and her father asked for prayers, adding, “We hope those prayers are answered and that Gary will be able to recover and return home soon.”

TMZ.com reported Coleman suffered a head injury after a fall at his Utah home.

Coleman — best known as Arnold on “Diff’rent Strokes” from 1978 to 1986 — has had continuing ill health from the kidney disease he suffered as a child.

He has had at least two kidney transplants and undergoes dialysis.

Last fall, he had heart surgery that was complicated by pneumonia, said lawyer Randy Kester.
