Kuchar keeps Colonial lead

In Fort Worth, Texas, Matt Kuchar made a 12-foot birdie putt at the 16th hole to regain the lead near the end of a long day at Colonial, and led four players by a stroke after three rounds.

Kuchar had a 1-under 69 that included some near misses and a nice par save at No. 17 to get to 11-under 199. Graham DeLaet, Boo Weekley, Chris Stroud and Matt Every were tied for second.

Jeff Overton was disqualified midway through the round for illegally using a putting aid during play. PGA Tour officials say Overton used it on a nearby practice green while waiting to tee off at No. 10.

EUROPEAN TOUR

In Virginia Water, England, Lee Westwood shot a 67 to move into second place, a stroke behind Alejandro Canizares, after three rounds of the BMW PGA Championship.

Sergio Garcia, whose verbal sparring with Tiger Woods turned ugly this week when he said he would serve him fried chicken, has an eight-way share of sixth place — only four off the lead.

SENIORS

In St. Louis, Kenny Perry, 52, had an eagle, five birdies and four bogeys for a 3-under 68 and a two-stroke lead after the third round of the Senior PGA Championship, a major.

LPGA

In Paradise Islands, Bahamas, Paola Moreno went bogey-free on the 12-hole course and took a one-shot lead in the partly flooded Bahamas LPGA Classic.
