Night of the gown

The stars were out at Monday’s Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards, held at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall. Big-screen stars such as Rooney Mara and Jessica Chastain joined top models like Miranda Kerr and Hilary Rhoda to celebrate the biggest names in fashion.

Ralph Lauren had the pleasure of handing over the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award to Vera Wang, while pantsuit queen Hillary Clinton presented Oscar de la Renta with the Founder’s Award as part of the stately affair.

Other winners included Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci (International Award), Proenza Schouler designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez (women’s wear), Thom Browne (menswear) and Phillip Lim (accessories).

The CFDAs also recognized emerging talent in fashion: Suno’s Max Osterweis and Erin Beatty were noted for women’s wear, Public School’s Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne were on top for menswear, and Pamela Love’s accessories landed her a prize.

After the ceremony, stars took the glitz and glamour to parties across town, including the Swarovski after-party at Top of the Standard.
