Oprah replaces canceled Michael Vick interview with David Arquette

CHICAGO — Actor David Arquette will give his first interview since completing a stint in rehab to talk show queen Oprah Winfrey, production company Harpo confirmed Friday.

Arquette’s interview on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” will screen on Thursday, replacing a scheduled interview with Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick, who backed out of the appearance for “personal reasons” on Thursday.

Vick served 21 months in prison for dogfighting before resurrecting his NFL career with the Eagles and was expected to discuss his comeback.

“He said personal reasons. We’re not going to push it,” Winfrey told The Hollywood Reporter.

Harpo rep. Bridgette Maney told Us Weekly that Arquette would now appear on the show.

“It will be the first he’s given since her recently completed rehab,” she said.

Arquette, 39, checked into an unnamed rehab facility on Jan. 2 to deal with alcohol addiction and other issues.

Arquette split from wife Courteney Cox in November 2010 after 11 years of marriage. The couple has a six-year-old daughter, Coco.
