Grumpy Cat getting live-action movie

Move over Garfield, there’s a new cat in town, and she is not happy to be here.

Grumpy Cat, the foul-faced Internet celebrity known for her grumpy expressions, has just signed a movie deal, according to Deadline.

The Garfield-like feature film will be made by Todd Garner and Sean Robins of Broken Road Productions, the team behind “Zookeeper” and “Jack and Jill,” and will star a live-action talking cat.

Not much else is known about the movie.

“This started off as a picture of a cat, but rare is an image that evokes that much comedy,” Garner told Deadline.

“You read all of the memes and the comments, and one is funnier than the next. We think we can build a big family comedy around this character.”

Grumpy Cat, real name Tarder Sauce, or Tard for short, was named the “most influencial cat of 2012” by MSNBC and has made numerous televious appearances on shows like “Today,” “Good Morning America” and “Anderson Cooper Live.”

She also won the prestigious Webby Award for Meme of the Year and has a YouTube channel with 120,000 subscribers and well over 20 million views.
