Qaeda plots body bombs

Beware of blond bombshells.

Shocking new intelligence reports warn that doctors are working with al Qaeda to develop ways to surgically insert explosives into the bodies of suicide bombers — who would blow themselves up on planes.

The terror group’s Yemeni affiliate is behind the plot, according to intelligence sources.

Officials refused to discuss specific security measures to thwart such attacks.

Once a terrorist finds a willing suicide bomber and secures the explosive materials, carrying off the tactic is not that difficult, said Chris Ronay, a former chief of the FBI explosives unit. “It’s rather easy and the damage could be rather severe,” he said.

However, Leo West, a retired FBI bomb expert, said concealing the bomb inside the body would make it far more difficult for the device to detonate properly.

“While possible, it is much less likely to work than other scenarios,” he said. “There are more practical ways of doing it.”
