FBI drug bust in Bronx nets 12 arrests, 1000 kilos of marijuana

The FBI took down the notorious Bronx gang called the “Creston Ave. Crew” Wednesday morning, which authorities say is responsible for moving about 1000 kilos of marijuana and 5 kilos of cocaine into the neighborhood.

So far, officials have arrested 12 members and are seeking 12 others in New York, Texas and Florida, FBI spokesman Jim Margolin said. Three crew members were busted in Puerto Rico.

The 6 a.m. raid in several New York locations netted three guns and an undetermined amount of drugs, Margolin said. The gang’s Bronx base is located near Creston Avenue at 2615 Grand Concourse, in the Bronx’s Kingsbridge section.

Federal officials expect to release more details later today.
