‘Deep’ album sales

Adele is rolling in the dough — from downloads.

The British singer’s sophomore album “21,” whose bold, bluesy hit single “Rolling in the Deep” has gone quadruple platinum, has just set an all-time industry record for digital album sales in the US, according to Billboard.

With a record-breaking 1,017,000 digital copies sold since its Feb. 22 stateside release, “21” has also become the fastest-selling digital album to surpass the 1 million mark in the US, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Digital sales account for more than 30 percent of all “21” sales, according to the research firm. The album’s online sales edged out Eminem’s “Recovery,” which previously had held the top spot with 1,005,000 digital albums sold.

Lady Gaga’s album “Fame” has sold 976,000 digital copies, while “Sigh No More” by Mumford & Sons has logged 890,000 paid downloads.

Worldwide, “21” has sold more than 9 million copies since its initial Jan. 21 release in the UK.
