Lincoln Tunnel partly reopens after dump truck spill

New Jersey-bound traffic in the Lincoln Tunnel is now flowing after authorities cleared rocks and debris that spilled after a dump truck malfunctioned.

A spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey says Wednesday the north tube opened as of 4 p.m.

He says about an hour earlier, a dump truck traveling from Pleasant Avenue to the turnpike malfunctioned, spilling debris on the helix.

The Port Authority says it had to close the north tube, leading into New Jersey, so that workers could clear the debris off the helix.
