A London artist found unexpected inspiration for his next piece while he witnessed the removal process of one of his earlier works.

The 28-year old stencil artist, who goes by the name ‘DS’, had completed a painting of Hello Kitty and Miffy entitled ‘Bad Kitty,’ according to the Daily Mail.

However, upon revisiting his painting eight hours later, he found an unnamed worker who had been sent to erase the graffiti from the wall.

“Knowing a piece has been removed or painted over doesn’t bother me, it’s the name of the game in graffiti but this time was a little different as it only lasted eight hours,” DS told the Daily Mail.

He then decided to photograph the entire process and create a stencilized representation of the worker on the same wall.

“I thought it would rip a hole in the space-time continuum or something,” he told the Mail.

The worker, who was no doubt surprised to see his face on the wall, posed for photos with his two-dimensional counterpart before leaving.

Months later, the stencil has not yet been removed.
