Boyfriend charged in quadriplegic mom’s bathtub suffocation

A quadriplegic woman was found suffocated in her bathtub as her 2-year-old son wandered around alone inside their Williamsburg home, police said today.

The woman’s 41-year-old druggie boyfriend, Angelo Sanchez, later confessed to killing her, saying he was high on crack at the time, law-enforcement sources said.

Sanchez was charged with murder and endangering the welfare of a child.

The victim was found after her mother requested a wellness check by cops and told them the couple had been fighting, police said.

Cops arrived at the Clymer Street apartment at 7:30 a.m. yesterday to find Melissa Torres, 32, lifeless in the tub. EMTs pronounced her dead at the scene.

Investigators believe that the woman was suffocated with a towel and that her body may have been moved to the bathtub as her killer tried to revive her, according to the sources.

Sanchez has been arrested about 25 times since 1988, mostly for drugs, the sources said.
