Rep. Charlie Rangel has either a very short memory or a serious character flaw (“Charlie’s Crackers,” Editorial, Aug. 11).
His recent rant about the Tea Party being “white crackers,” and comparing Republicans to terrorists is an insult. As a Republican and a Tea Party supporter, I want to see changes in the way our government is run. If we keep on the current path, we’ll be a third-world country before you know it. That goes for both parties, which, over the years, have put us in this position.
I guess Rangel forgot about his failure to pay his taxes on the foreign property he owned, among other missteps.
I am not a racist and definitely not a terrorist. Rangel is a typical lefty, in that anyone who disagrees with his vision is written off as a bigot or worse. Eric Beale

Rangel, the joke of a congressman, is now calling the Tea Party white crackers.
First of all, Charlie should be in jail for his behavior.
Second, he is a failed congressman. Harlem was the worst in the city under his years of so-called representation.
Remember, Rangel was thrown out as head of the House Ways and Means Committee. He’s a despicable disgrace to New York. JR Cummings

There is no difference in how offensive “cracker” is from the n-word.
They signify the same degree of racial contempt and hatred. It is getting awfully tiresome to read and hear these race-baiting haters given leeway to spout their garbage with impunity.

Rangel’s likening of the Tea Party to Old South segregationists was perhaps a tad strident.
However, The Post’s assertion that those reactionary obstructionists somehow made the GOP more diverse was a hoot.
The majority of Hispanics and blacks do not support and will not vote for the likes of Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Marco Rubio, Gov. Rick Scott, etc. You can bet the House on it.

The recent racist rant from that taxpayer-funded layabout Rangel is disgusting. He should be fired ASAP. If he isn’t, that would prove a liberal bias in favor of African-American racism.
Imagine if a white politician had said something similar about blacks or another group. The media would be calling for his head on a plate.
But black racism is allowed, I suppose.
