Prince released cover artwork for his single “Breakfast Can Wait” on Twitter – showing comedian Dave Chappelle dressed as the musician from an iconic “Chappelle’s Show” segment.
During the 2004 skit, “Prince” – wearing frilly purple – teams with his band, the Revolution, in a game of basketball against comedian Charlie Murphy and other players.
Shirts versus blouses.
After Prince leads his team to victory, he offers the losing team breakfast.
“I gotta admit … it was a good game,” Murphy says.
“I wish I could say the same for you and your team of flunkies,” Prince responds, scooping pancakes onto his opponents’ plates.
The segment remains fresh nearly a decade later, giving the real-life Prince the perfect way to tease “Breakfast Can Wait.”
