Henri Stern Watch Agency boss has driver’s license revoked for 6 months after causing drunk driving accident

He’s going to have to take the bus from now on.

The 88-year-old boss of the city’s most prestigious watch-repair firm — who pled guilty last month to driving his grey convertible rip-roaring drunk into another car in Midtown Manhattan — had his license revoked at his sentencing today in Manhattan Criminal Court.

That didn’t stop Werner Sonn, who told police he drinks every day, from asking for a conditional license to drive his wife to a clinic in Long Island.

“They have excellent public transportation,” said a smirking Judge James Burke as he denied the request.

Sonn, chairman of the board of the Henri Stern Watch Agency at Rockefeller Center, got into trouble April 16 when he nearly toppled 12 stories off scaffolding on West 48th Street near his office.

“What, I had a few drinks,” he told cops after the accident. “I drink every day!”

The watchmaker blew a whopping .154 on a Breathalyzer — nearly double the legal limit.

In addition to having his license revoked for six months, Sonn has to pay about $1,400 in fines and surcharges. He is also required to enroll in a drinking and driving program as part of his sentence.

He declined to comment as he left court.
