MSG broadcaster and former Post sports writer John Giannone got a puck in the face with four seconds remaining in the second period of the Rangers’ 4-1 win over the Islanders Thursday night at the Garden.

Standing between the two benches, Giannone was on the receiving end of a clearing attempt by Marc Staal and it bloodied his nose and forehead.

“I’ve always thought I had a face for radio,” Giannone said. “Now I really do.”

Giannone said he has been working at the Garden for 12 years, and this was the first time his wife has ever attended a game he worked. He also said he has no intention of wearing a mask of any kind in the future.
