Simon Cowell bringing cooking show to US

Simon Cowell is in talks with Fox to bring his upcoming UK cooking show, “Food Glorious Food!,” to the US, according to reports.

The “X Factor” creator/judge has held “preliminary” talks with Fox, which is interested in the idea, according to radaronline.com.

The show, launching on Britain’s ITV, is produced by Cowell’s Syco TV production arm (Cowell does not appear on-air).

It centers around four judges who travel the country, looking for a recipe good enough to be sold in Britain’s upscale Marks & Spencer retail stores. The winner walks away with about $31,000 in prizes.

Cowell is considering Anthony Bourdain and “Man V. Food” host Adam Richman as two of the judges for the American version, according to the report.

Bourdain is about to launch a new show on CNN called “Parts Unknown” and also appears on ABC’s food competition show “The Taste,” which premiered last month.

Fox has several cooking shows already on its schedule, including “Hell’s Kitchen” and “Kitchen Nightmares,” both hosted by Gordon Ramsay.

“The X Factor” is scheduled to return to Fox next fall for a third season — and is looking for new judges after the departures of Britney Spears and original judge LA Reid.
