Fashion show is put on ice

Today’s blizzard will have a chilling effect on Fashion Week.

Marc Jacobs says he will postpone his scheduled Monday show, according to a report.

The designer had to push back his “collection” show because of delayed shipments of fabric and accessories, he said on Facebook — and he pinned the blame on the weather, New York magazine said.

Jacobs’ usually star-studded catwalk extravaganza will be pushed to next Thursday.

“We’re missing bags, shoes and two fabrics,” Jacobs exec Robert Duffy told Women’s Wear Daily.

The time slot for Jacobs’ high-end collection show will be replaced by the showing of another one of his lines that is not affected by the snow.

It will be at the Tents at Lincoln Center.

“We just want to have the best show possible and show all the product that our design team has been working on so hard for the last six months,” Duffy said.

A Fashion Week spokesman said planners were prepared for the blizzard, which could dump as much as 15 inches on the city.

Organizers have “additional crews to help with snow, ice and salt maintenance, increased interior heating, and a precautionary extra layer of tenting for the protection of the venue,” the spokesman said.
