A man shot and killed his girlfriend in her Queens home yesterday and then turned the gun on himself, police said.
The murder-suicide occurred at 8:10 p.m. shortly after Robert Gruber, 30, of Brooklyn paid an unannounced visit to Suzanna Sutton, also 30, at her residence on 92nd Street in East Elmhurst, police said.
“There was a cordial discussion overheard by [a roommate] followed by two pops,” said a police official. A short time later, the roommate found both victims shot in the head.
The dead woman had a 10-year-old daughter, neighbors said. It was not clear if she was at home at the time of the shooting, but she was seen several hours later exiting the mother’s home with relatives.
