They worked the baby for ratings.

The first photo of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s daughter, North West, was unveiled yesterday on Kris Jenner’s Fox talk show in an apparent bid to pump up ratings and get it picked up for a full season.

The limelight-loving couple had considered selling the baby photos to a magazine and donating the cash to charity — but saving Grandma Jenner’s talk-show career became top priority.

“It’s all this talk about baby pictures and can you get paid for the baby picture or do you want to put it on a magazine,” West said in his interview on “The Kris Jenner Show.”

“And for me and your daughter, we have not attempted to get paid for anything, we have not attempted to put it on a magazine.

“You just stop all of the noise, and I thought it would be really cool on her grandmother’s season finale to bring a picture of North.”

The snapshot shows little North propped up on a shoulder.

“How cute is that gorgeous baby?” Jenner gushed.

Kardashian followed by posting the photo on Instagram.

West and Kardashian have shielded North from the public eye since she was born in June — even covering her face with a blanket when they were photographed at the funeral for West’s grandfather in Oklahoma.

But Jenner teased the unveiling of her grandkid all week to tout her show, which was ending a six-week trial run.

Viewers saw through the ploy.

“Kris Jenner. The only person who can leverage a baby for show ratings and get away with it. #northwest,” wrote one tweeter, ”@KJPuncorked.

Jenner used cheap tricks to drum up interest — like tweeting a pic of herself with a dark-haired baby last week. “You never know who will stop by our show today,” she tweeted.

The pictured baby was actually her hairstylist’s.

For his part, the normally salty West showed a softer image on Jenner’s gabfest, gushing about the mother of his daughter.

“I’m being with this person because I love this person. She’s worth it to me,” he said.

“She is my joy, and she brought my new joy into the world.

“Now I have two really special people to live for.”

And West doesn’t care if he gets labeled a sellout.

“I could have people saying, ‘This is going to damage your credibility as an artist or as a designer,’ and I say, ‘I don’t care. I love this woman,’ ” West said.
