Qns. kid drowns in tub

A boy from Bangladesh drowned in the bathtub of his family’s apartment in Queens, cops said.

Farhan Talukder, 10, was found face down in the tub and unconscious when his parents made the grim discovery about 6:30 p.m. yesterday in their Woodside apartment on Queens Boulevard, authorities said.

They immediately called 911. The boy was taken by ambulance to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, police said.

A police source said that Talukder was autistic and that no criminality was suspected after cops questioned his family last night.

The family of the autistic Queens boy who drowned in a bathtub had come to the United States from Bangladesh to seek treatment for him, according to a neighbor.

“That’s why they’re coming here, to get treatment for the boy,” said Mohammad Billal, 45. “His mom and father spent a lot of money to come to this country to give him a better life. It’s so very sad.”

His parents do not have criminal records, and police had never been called to their home before, sources added. The child also had a surviving younger sister.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
