Pinstripe PED poseur

The Issue: Reports suggesting Alex Rodriguez used performance-enhancing drugs while on the Yankees.

The Yankees may be able to salvage something from their poor decision to sign Alex Rodriguez to a $275 million contract (“Void Rage,” Jan. 30).

If A-Rod used performance-enhancing drugs, he did the team a favor, providing the Yanks a way out of paying him the remaining $114 million on his contract.

If those allegations are true, he’ll get what’s coming to him, never enjoying induction into Cooperstown, and with an asterisk always placed by his batting records.

He may also suffer what no one should wish on him: a miserable life of physical malady due to the effects of steroids, which wreak havoc on the body long after a career has ended.

I just want to make sure I have this right: Four Americans are murdered in Benghazi, and the president’s media cheerleading squad seems perfectly OK with this.

But a Florida newspaper accuses a known PED cheat like A-Rod of — gasp! — purchasing PEDs, and the media are all fired up, ready to run this story down like a rabid dog?

A-Rod’s salary has been the greatest waste of money since Vietnam.
