After the story went viral on the Internet, animal lovers rushed to the rescue of the pit-bull mix and found a new owner among hundreds of applicants.

Although anyone familiar with animal behavior knows that what the pooch did doesn’t indicate homosexuality, the new owner gave it a proud name — “Elton.”

The name she was given at birth was declared illegal because it did not appear on the official list of 1,853 girls’ names Iceland allows.
