‘Unruly’ passenger on JetBlue flight out of NY forces plane to be diverted

A New York City-to-San Diego flight was diverted to Denver last night after an unruly passenger kicked up a ruckus in a seat dispute, officials and eyewitnesses said.

The unidentified woman was pulled off the JetBlue flight to shouts of “crazy” and cheers from fellow passengers, according to video obtained by KDVR-TV in Denver.

She had apparently become irate when flight attendants moved a passenger into an open seat next to her that commanded a premium price, but was not required to pay extra for it, the station reported.

The aircraft landed at Denver International Airport at about 7:15 p.m. local time. A JetBlue spokeswoman said the irate customer was met by airport law-enforcement officers.

The spokeswoman described the passenger as an “unruly customer.”
