Mike Tyson’s ‘SVU’ episode moved up a week

NBC has rescheduled its “Law & Order: SVU” episode guest-starring Mike Tyson.

The episode, originally scheduled to air Feb. 13, will now air next Wednesday, Feb. 6.

NBC officials gave no indication yesterday, when contacted by The Post, as to why it moved the “SVU” episode, entitled “Monster’s Legacy,” up a week — but there has been a lot in interest, since Tyson was cast as a death-row murderer.

The move comes on the heels of an online petition launched on change.org by Marcie Kaveney, a rape survivor who is asking NBC to recast the role played by Tyson — who, in 1992, was convicted of raping beauty pageant contestant Desiree Washington and served three years in prison.

“I’m sorry that she’s not happy,” Tyson told TV Guide magazine regarding Kaveney. “I didn’t rape nobody or do anything like that, and this lady wasn’t there to know if I did or not.

“Since I’m clean and sober five years, I haven’t broken any laws or did any crimes.”

Tyson said his character on “SVU” was a victim of child abuse who was sentenced to death after killing one of the people who abused him.

Tyson is no stranger to series TV; he headlined the Animal Planet reality series “Taking on Tyson” in 2011.
