A Locke to host

Former “American Idol” contestant Kimberley Locke has inked a deal with Media Meld Studios to host its planned reality show, “Mak ing the Curve” — in which talented, plus-size women “prove that they have what it takes to form a hit pop musical group.” Locke will also exec utive-produce the series, which doesn’t yet have a network home.

Media Meld, by the way, just wrapped “Happy on the Ground: A Week at Grammy Camp,” a documentary which follows high school students in a “musical immersion” camp affiliated with The Re cording Academy.

And speaking of Locke and “American Idol,” show win ner David Cook will be at the new JCPenney Manhattan store Wednesday (4-7 p.m.) to sign autographs.

Cable: Bravo’s “Real House wives of Atlanta” premiered to 2.7 million viewers Thurs day night to become the most- watched premiere in “House wives” franchise history.

TV Land, meanwhile, is flacking its new Joan Rivers– hosted show, “How’d You Get So Rich?” with Joan and two Rivers impersonators outside “The Early Show” to morrow, before the faux Joans head to midtown spots to dispense chocolate coins.

And VH1’s “Lords of the Revolution: Andy Warhol,” screens Thursday at the Paley Center (6:30 p.m.). The “Lords of the Revolution” se ries, narrated by Richard Belzer, premieres Aug. 10.

Al Roker’s Weather Chan nel debut (“Wake Up With Al”) got off to a promising start the week of July 20, in creasing its timeslot numbers by 15 percent (adults 25-54) and upping viewership in adults 18-49 by 18 percent. The show airs 6-7 a.m. and 10 a.m. with Roker in New York and TWC’s Stephanie Ab rams live from Atlanta.
